Harmony Day Family Picnic

During Term One we learnt about our families and our ancestors. We discovered that many of our families have come from different countries and cultures. On March 21st, Harmony Day was celebrated across Australia. Berwick Lodge invited our families to celebrate Harmony Day with a special Prep to Two Family Picnic. We came dressed in orange. It was cold, wet and windy but we still had lots of mums and dads, aunties and uncles, brothers and sisters, and also grandparents. It was a great way to learn more about the wonderful familes that make up our grade.

Harmony Day

On Harmony Day we worked with our Grade 4 buddies to make a Harmony Bracelet. We used our ‘Getting Along’ skills and worked together to plait or twist coloured threads to make a bracelet. Our Harmony Bracelets were made using the colours of the flags from all the countries where Grade 1K families have come from.
